Slow Food East End takes pride in facilitating local connections so we have also invited the local volunteers launching Food Rescue US – North Fork. The goal of Food Rescue is to repurpose food that would otherwise go directly into landfills. Volunteers pick up surplus edible food from local businesses and deliver it to nearby social service agencies that serve the food insecure.
We invite you to brain storm with us about how to support this organization grow on the east end. This is not a power point program but an informal conversation to identify ways for Food Rescue to become a reality. We know together we can generate ideas to help the planet and our neighbors. We’d really love to hear what you think.
