BEYOND THE STREETS on PAPER co-curator Evan Pricco is also the editor-in-chief of the the uber-cool Juxtapoz Magazine. In conjunction with the exhibition, the BTS crew asked some of the artists from the show about their practice and time spent in the studio over the last 18 months. Check out their recent conversation with the Iran-born, Brooklyn-based artists Icy & Sot about urgency in their works, reducing stress and their best playlist.
“I strongly urge anyone interested in art, especially art that’s vital, what’s happening now, political, and full of social satire, to go to the Southampton Arts Center and see ‘Beyond The Streets on Paper.’ A vast number of people have seen the series of exhibitions that started in 2011, all from the brain and seemingly limitless energy of a graffiti artist from that hotbed of graffiti art, Bethesda, Maryland, Roger Gastman.”
