Though focusing on struggles of health, injustice, and political divide, CLEARING THE AIR at SAC it is not a somber experience. Rather, this exhibition offers a real sense of hope, joy, and connectivity. True to Jay Davis’s work as an artist and curator of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s Ambulatory Care Arts Program, this show intrigues and inspires, redefining what is traditionally viewed as the healing arts.

As noted by SAC executive director Tom Dunn in a recent story in The Southampton Press, “this show is interesting because of the challenges of many of the artists, but it’s also uplifting and inspiring for the observer. Outside my personal experience and those of the artists in the show, the last year has been incredibly challenging for everybody. The pandemic challenged us in ways we didn’t know possible — civil rights rallies, racial and social justice — in that larger context, we wanted to put a thoughtful show together about this moment.”

Come explore all CLEARING THE AIR has to offer Thursday through Sunday from 12 to 5 PM.

Primary Care and Reproductive Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian is CLEARING THE AIR’S presenting sponsor. Exclusive media support comes from The Southampton Press. Additional support for CLEARING THE AIR and related programs has been made possible by Long Island Community Foundation.
