Join us this Sunday for Mountainfilm on Tour Southampton, a documentary film festival that showcases stories about environmental, cultural, political, and social justice issues.

The films to be screened include: 

MA’S HOUSE – See the evolution of local Indigenous artist haven Ma’s House as told by Ma’s grandson Jeremy Dennis.

BACON “N” LACES – A story about a blind father’s love for his children and his perseverance to defy the odds and refusal to allow his struggles to limit him.

CALIEFAH – Featuring the depth of family pride and the power of culture, filmed on Juneteenth in South Los Angeles at the height of the Black Lives Matter movement, this film follows a single mother as she graduates from university and leverages her skills to find success.

JANWAAR – Learn about the safety net created by sport in this film about a skate park in one of the largest and poorest states in India, and the power of the shared passion for skateboarding.

AMERICAN SCAR – See the unexpected environmental effects of the newly built border wall in SW Arizona.

STRANGER AT THE GATE – A tale about the power of indoctrination from the perspective of a decorated Marine, this film examines deep-seated biases and how they can be overcome.

WRITE THE LINE – A film featuring a young boy who dreams of becoming like his favorite athletes.

Preceding the films, Ma’s House director Jeremy Dennis and Bacon ‘n’ Laces director Stephen Michael Simon will participate in a Q+A, moderated by Elyn Kronemeyer, at 7:45 PM. Gates open at 7 PM.

Mountainfilm on Tour in Southampton is hosted by Elyn and Jeff Kronemeyer in partnership with Dr. Paula Angelone and Gerald Rosengarten and Brown Harris Stevens.
