The Southampton Cultural Center is proud to present their

Fourth Annual Gala – An Evening of Wine and Roses

at a private estate in Southampton Village

Saturday May 25, from 6pm- 9pm.

Every year the Southampton Cultural Center raises money through this Evening of Wine and Roses to primarily support its panoply of programs, namely:

– The Needs-based Scholarships for Children

– Free Concerts in the Park Series

– Year-round Theater Productions

– The Rising Stars Piano Series

– Latin Dance events

– Language programs

– Educational component including Art classes, Language, Dance, Acting, Music lessons.

The first gala started when Thomas Farrell joined the Board of Directors. The idea of reaching out to the community and the ones surrounding the town of Southampton seemed like the logical next action for supporting the growth and expansion of the Cultural Center. The SCC’s initial gala supported their capital expenditures campaign for updates to the Levitas Center, which greatly enhanced audience experience as well as performance delivery, and production value.

The soul of the establishment, Executive Director of the Southampton Cultural Center, Kirsten Lonnie, who also was one of the founding members of the SCC in 1985, and a Board Member until 2004, shares, “An average of 35,000 people attend the SCC’s programs and we are proud to be able to raise funds towards supporting our community’s culture for children and adults alike.”

The Southampton Cultural Center is outdoing itself this year. Guests attending the May 25th Gala will be welcome with sumptuous foods, live entertainment, live and silent auctions, and more. It will be a fabulous tented event at a beautiful Southampton village private estate on Captain Neck’s Lane.

Live entertainment will feature Certain Media and a special appearance by Christiaan Padavan, amazing talent and one of our Hamptons Bays residents, who competed on American Idol’s latest season.

Along with the gala chairs and hosts, we will also be celebrating Thomas Farrell, and Barbara Kushner and the new co-chairs, Stan Glinka and Craig Ruhling. Adding to the celebration, Honorees this year are:

– Dr and Mrs Morell Avram, long-time supporters in the Arts on the East End in general,

– Lylla Carter – long-time SCC Board Member and supporter of the musical landscape on the East

– Thomas Knight – former Chairman of the SCC, and

– Larry Strickland – long-time Educator in Languages, and community advocate.
