Rising Stars Piano Series presents

Pianofest alumni Jiao Sun

This recital will be Jiao Sun’s debut at the Rising Stars Piano Series.

She will perform works by Scarlatti, Haydn, Gershwin, Ch’uqi, Scriabin, Chopin and Liszt.


Sun has been serving as piano faculty and collaborative artist in residence at Ohio University School of Music since 2021 while accomplishing a doctoral of musical arts degree at Cincinnati Conservatory of Music (CCM) where she earned an artist diploma and won a graduate teaching award. She won a silver medal at the 2021 Washington International Piano Competition; 1st prize at the 2019 Memphis Repertory Orchestra International

Concerto Competition, 1st and 2nd prizes at two Chautauqua International Piano Competitions, and 1st prize at the CCM Concerto Competition among others. She has also advanced as one of the six piano trios to the 2019 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, won 1st place at the 2019 Hong Kong International Chamber Music Competition and 2nd prize at the 2018 CCM Chamber Music Competition. Sun has earned Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees at Eastman School of Music.
