On a rainy evening in May, our Halsey House Gala co-host and dear friend Jean Shafiroff opened her beautiful New York City home for a delightful soiree in support of the museum and our shared love of Southampton’s rich history. Friends gathered, and the warmth in the room was a welcome refuge from the cold rain outside.
The evening took on special meaning when former New York State Assemblyman Jerry Kremer presented two New York State Assembly Citations, one to Jean, and one to the Southampton History Museum, accepted by our Executive Director, Sarah Kautz, in recognition of the museum’s outstanding commitment to historic preservation, community education, and the protection of treasured landmarks, including the historic Halsey House.
Thank you, Jean, Assemblyman Kremer, and to NYS Assembly Member Rebecca A. Seawright for this recognition, and to everyone who joined us that evening.
