At Landcraft Gardens, 4342 Grand Ave, Mattituck, NY 11952

Two local non-profits have joined to offer a one-of-a-kind experience at the Landcraft Garden in Mattituck. Southold Historical Museum and Landcraft Garden Foundation have planned an event for up to 100 guests on Friday, September 22. The tours of the beautiful gardens, historic talk, and refreshments combine to create an exclusive evening that both garden and history lovers will not want to miss.

Established in 1992, by Dennis Schraeder and Bill Smith, the Landcraft Garden is a natural oasis consisting of four acres of diverse plantings and 1840s farmhouse. Guests of the Garden Walk and Talk will explore the gardens at their leisure with garden guides situated to answer questions and offer their knowledge.

Gathering on the center lawn, guests will be treated to a talk by Co-Founder Bill Smith, wherein he shares the history of the farmhouse and garden, since their acquisition. The process of the land’s transformation is sure to impress. Additionally, Southold Historical Museum’s Executive Director will share the centuries-long history of the land. Guests will be offered wine, cheese, and sparkling water in this gorgeous setting as well.

Witte-Walker stated, “We are thrilled to be collaborating with the Landcraft Garden Foundation. Their connection with nature and sense of community pride is so important to our modern story.”
