“Potato Accident,” July 27, 1945.
—–
Pictured here is a horse-drawn carriage filled with potato sacks. However, we also see spilled sacks and potatoes have fallen out onto the road. The truck, which was following the cart, ended up having to stop in the center of the road.
—–
While most of us can relate to being stuck behind a farm vehicle at some point in our lives, hopefully we have not had potatoes falling out in front of us.
Such is the life of a driver in a rural community!

Our Nautical Museum volunteers held their end of season party at the Horton Point Lighthouse where they celebrated another wonderful season.

The Chilly Chili party is a get together that the lighthouse museum volunteers organize this time of year and they each bring something, with the main dish being chili.
——-
We have a great group of volunteers who greet visitors all summer and it’s nice to see everyone all together in one place having a good time. If you think you might be interested in volunteering, give us a call at 631-765-5500 or find out more below.
