Over 50 volunteers RSVP’d as we celebrated a morning recognizing the invaluable work and contributions they make to the Museum and the community. We are so very grateful for all they do. This event is our heartfelt way of saying thank you for the incredible support and dedication.

You’re Invited to Hubbard Appreciation Day

——————

Join Floyd Memorial Library in Greenport for an exhibit and events honoring Whitney and Ruth Hubbard on Saturday, Oct. 25.

The exhibit features works by the Impressionist artist, Whitney Hubbard, including pieces from Southold Historical Museum and other collections.

The exhibit will be on view from 10:30 – 5:00.

Special events during the day include a Curator’s Walk at 1PM with Christopher Bianchi, Sally Grant, and Janet Olinkiewicz taking visitors on a tour of the exhibit: Whitney M. Hubbard: 150 Years. There will be an Open Discussion at 2PM, and visitors are invited to bring their own stories or works by the artist. At 3PM there will be an Afternoon Tea and Musical Performance by George Cork Maul, featuring original compositions in conversation with Ruth Hubbard, who was known as a fine pianist and a generous force on the North Fork.

Author Talk with Steve Israel – The Einstein Conspiracy

Join Steve Israel, owner of Theodore’s Books and former U.S. Congressman, for a fascinating discussion of his new historical thriller, The Einstein Conspiracy, at 3 PM on Saturday, Nov. 22, at Floyd Memorial Library, Greenport.

Mr. Israel will be joined by Darren St. George, Executive Director of Southold Historical Museum, and Amy Folk, Archivist and Curator.

Set at the dawn of World War II, The Einstein Conspiracy imagines a race against time as FBI agents uncover a Nazi plot to kidnap Albert Einstein — a story inspired by real events.

There will be a reception with hors d’oeuvres, light refreshments, and a meet & greet with Congressman Israel at 2:30.

Free and open to the public. Registration required.

Treasure Exchange Participating in North Fork Passport Program

Southold Historical Museum’s Treasure Exchange is pleased to participate in the North Fork Passport Program featuring special discounts and offers at participating local businesses from November 8 through November 26, 2025.

The Passport is offered to attendees of the North Fork Promotional Council “Harvest Wine and Food Celebration” on Nov. 7 at Raphael Vineyards.

The Treasure Exchange will be offering a 10% discount on all fine goods, including jewelry, accessories, home décor, children’s goods and other antiques and collectibles. Located in the historic Prince Building, hours are: 10am – 2pm, Monday through Wednesday, 10am – 4pm on Thursdays and Fridays, and Saturdays 12pm – 4pm.

The program is presented by the North Fork Promotional Council in collaboration with Long Island Wine Country, Greenport BID, North Fork Chamber of Commerce and the Mattituck Chamber of Commerce.
