Join Us This Weekend for Exciting New Exhibits

——————

Southold Historical Museum is showcasing two exciting new seasonal exhibits that explore the fascinating history of the North Fork. Both are opening this Memorial Day weekend!

Sailing: Southold Yacht Club is the main exhibit at the historic Maple Lane Campus. The exhibit shows the history of sailing in Southold and the many members of the community who participated in Southold Yacht Club activities. Open weekends, 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

At the Nautical Museum at Horton Point Lighthouse, the main exhibit is Going Places: Ferry Companies of the Long Island Sound, detailing many of the ferry lines that traveled up and down Long Island Sound. Open weekends, 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

As always, the price of admission includes both locations and exhibits

through mid-Sept.

Visit us weekends throughout the summer at our three locations: Maple Lane Campus, Nautical Museum at Horton Point Lighthouse, and the Gift Shop/Treasure Exchange for special events, exhibits, and tours.

Students are Leading a History Tour of Southold

——————

Join us for a unique, student-led walking tour through historic Southold! Fourth-grade students from Southold School District will take turns guiding us through 14 landmark locations, sharing researched stories and local history at each stop along the way.

This engaging and educational experience is a collaboration between Southold Historical Museum and Southold Elementary School to celebrate our shared heritage through the voices of our young historians. The tour begins at Southold Elementary School and concludes at the Museum’s Maple Lane Complex, where we’ll celebrate the students’ hard work and dedication with Italian ices for all.

This event is FREE and open to the public. Comfortable walking shoes and water bottles are recommended.

Come support our students and enjoy a walk through time in the heart of Southold!
