Dear Southold Historical Society Members and Supporters,
—–
It has been a month since Southold Historical Society closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It certainly has been a difficult month for the whole community. We have all been affected by this virus – sadly, some more drastically than others. We truly hope that you have been able to stay safe and well.
—–
Since mid-March, our staff has fortunately been able to work from home. The Board of Trustees and I have been regularly communicating about how to ensure the well-being and safety of our volunteers, staff, and visitors.
—–
We hope you have been enjoying the regular newsletters that feature different items from the collection. We have enjoyed putting them together. Additionally, we have begun a blog site where you can share recollections, articles, photos, etc. These mission-related initiatives provide us an opportunity to share the rich history of Southold as well as offer an avenue for you to share your memories and treasures with us. Thank you for taking part.
—–
During this challenging time, the Society has been carefully evaluating our finances. Because of the economic uncertainties confronting all non-for-profits, we are prioritizing those that are essential and those which can wait. We hope that you will continue to support Southold Historical Society when you are able.
—–
Southold has a long history of perseverance. We strongly believe in the strength of the people. Please do everything you can to stay safe, and we look forward to seeing you again when the outlook improves.
—–
With faith and hope,
—–
Deanna Witte-Walker

There are several ways that you can help the Society during this difficult time. Would you please consider becoming a member or renewing your membership? Perhaps you would like to make a monetary donation or become one of our sponsors? We cannot do it alone! We need your help! Your donations will help the Society continue to maintain it’s mission and preserve Southold’s rich history for generations to come.
