Annual Candlelight Tour
Friday, November 29, 3-6pm
55200 Main Rd., Southold
The Candlelight Tour is an annual favorite for some good old-fashioned fun—visiting Santa in the Barn and touring our historic houses, print shop, blacksmith shop and other buildings.
This year the Southold Historical Society “Festive Victorian Decorators” will return to adorn the Ann Currie-Bell House. Come see the house festooned in all its splendor. And don’t miss the Thomas Moore House, which is decorated in a colonial style. Throughout the complex, there will be craft demonstrations, games, raffles and refreshments.

Holiday Fair
Saturday, December 7, 9-4pm
Southold Rec. Center
970 Peconic Lane, Peconic
Volunteers have been busy planning this festive event and raffle which supports the work of Southold Historical Society. A great variety of vendors and talented local artisans will be on hand with unique holiday gifts for all. The Holiday Auction features baskets overflowing with prizes with something for everyone! There will be a bake sale and “café” for snacks as well as a crafts room and face painting for children. And families with children won’t want to miss a visit with Santa who will be on hand to greet children from 11am-2pm. Photos with Santa and admission to the event are free.

Annual Appeal 2019

We hope you will consider making a contribution to this year‘s annual appeal. Last year we raised just under $30,000; this year our goal is to double that amount. Every dollar given will be used to support our mission through educational programs, exhibits, and funding for our events. Your contributions will also help us with unexpected expenses on our buildings.
—————–
As a result of your contributions last year, we were able to bring back the Ice Cream Social, continue our traditional Candlelight Tour, present two exhibits that made local news, and sponsor, in partnership with Peconic Landing, a Winter Lecture Series on Maritime History. Our biggest achievement was to complete the Henry and Caroline Elfers Collections Center to be dedicated in 2020.
—————–
We are a non-profit museum that relies solely on private contributions. We value and appreciate all the support we get throughout the year, but we survive as an organization through your financial contributions.

On behalf of The Board of Trustees, we thank you for your consideration of this request.
