Winter Lecture Series @ Peconic Landing

“Sagamore Hill: Theodore Roosevelt’s Summer White House”  by Bill Bleyer

Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 4 pm at the auditorium at Peconic Landing’s Community Center
Bill Bleyer’s PowerPoint Presentation will cover how the Roosevelt family began to visit Oyster Bay during the Civil War and how Theodore Roosevelt built his dream house at Sagamore Hill where he hosted political guests like Henry Cabot Lodge and cultural luminaries like novelist Edith Wharton. Roosevelt spent his final years happily at Sagamore Hill, and after his death in 1919, the house was preserved by his widow, the Theodore Roosevelt Association and eventually the National Park Service.

Southold Historical Society is a vibrant, active, local organization that is in need of your attention. We are seeking BUSINESS SPONSORS for 2020. Your Business Sponsorship will support the Historical Society in its efforts to improve historical collections and to focus on increased community involvement. The Society is energized with the leadership of our new Director. We are enthusiastically reaching out to involve greater business participation in making history come alive in Southold.
Specifically, your Sponsorship will help us to achieve at least the following planned programs and events:
——————-
Historical Lecture Series – all year
Ice Cream Social in August – back by popular demand
Seasonal exhibitions at the Lighthouse Museum and Museum Complex
Candlelight Tour in November – a community favorite
Refurbishment of permanent exhibit
Education programs for local school youth
——————-
Business Sponsorships will be at the level of: $500, $1,000, $2000 or more. With so many means of communication, the Society will be displaying the names of Business Sponsors in e-mails, on our website, on posted signs, and on printed programs at select events and via verbal recognition when appropriate.
Your support will truly make a difference. We hope you will join us in this endeavor by becoming a Business Sponsor for 2020.

Thank you for your consideration and support.
