Tanglewood, the famed music and learning campus and summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, is pleased to announce additional programs and updates to its 2025 summer season (June 20–Sept. 5):
- The Goonies in Concert performed live to picture by the Boston Pops in the Koussevitzky Music Shed (Aug. 29, 8 p.m.)
- Tasting Notes: The Tanglewood Wine & Food Festival, curated by Dare Bottleshop & Provisions with offerings from the Berkshires’ best wineries and restaurants (Aug. 16, 12 to 4 p.m.)
- Berkshire Day, offering free tickets for Berkshire residents to the BSO’s Sunday matinee concert in the Shed, which features conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen and violinist Pekka Kuusisto (July 13, 2:30 p.m.)
- Weekly TLI-Audubon Tours through the Tanglewood grounds (Wednesdays, July 2 through Aug. 20, 10 a.m.)
- A performance by BSO musicians and an instrument playground at Mill Town Foundation’s second annual Common Ground Festival, this year to be held at Bosquet Mountain in Pittsfield (Aug. 23, 3 to 7 p.m.)

The Goonies in Concert
Celebrate the family friendly favorite’s 40th anniversary with the Boston Pops performing Dave Grusin’s iconic score live to film. On Friday, August 29, the Pops presents The Goonies in Concert at Tanglewood’s Koussevitzky Music Shed (8 p.m.). Produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Richard Donner, the 1985 adventure comedy tells the story of a group of misfits on a search for long-lost treasure, complete with an ancient map, deadly booby traps, a ruthless crime family, and Baby Ruth candy bars.
The Boston Pops performs two other film scores live this summer: Top Gun Maverick (June 20, 8 p.m., with conductor Constantine Kitsopoulos) and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in Concert (Aug. 1, 8 p.m., with conductor Damon Gupton).

Tasting Notes: The Tanglewood Wine & Food Festival
Tanglewood is pleased to announce Tasting Notes: The Tanglewood Wine & Food Festival, a special event on Saturday, August 16 from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Highwood Manor House Lawn on Tanglewood’s campus. Attendees can enjoy wine samples from local and regional wineries, curated by Lenox’s own Dare Bottleshop & Provisions, as well as complementary bites and small plates from the best restaurants throughout the Berkshires. A ticket to the festival also includes a lawn ticket to the BSO Open Rehearsal beginning at 10:30 a.m. with conductor Dima Slobodeniouk and pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet.

Community Events and Partnerships
On Sunday, July 13, Tanglewood hosts Berkshire Day, offering free Shed tickets to the 2:30 p.m. concert to residents and property owners of Berkshire County. Acclaimed conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen leads the BSO and fellow Finn Pekka Kuusisto in Sibelius’ Violin Concerto on a program that also offers Sibelius’ Symphony No. 5 and Gabriella Smith’s Tumbleweed Contrails. Tickets may be picked up starting on Monday, July 7 at 12 p.m. in person at the Main Gate Box Office. Residents must show identification to establish Berkshire County residency or property ownership.
In partnership with the Massachusetts Audubon Society, Tanglewood Learning Institute (TLI) this summer offers weekly tours exploring the area’s natural environment, Time Traveling with Tanglewood’s Trees and the Lenox Landscape. With the sounds of the Wednesday morning orchestra rehearsal as a backdrop, attendees will learn about the variety of mature specimen trees on the Tanglewood grounds and enjoy views of the Berkshire Hills from different vantage points. Tickets are $15 for adults and free for children under 18. Tours begin at 10 a.m.
The BSO once again collaborates with Mill Town Foundation for this summer’s Common Ground Festival, Saturday, August 23 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Bosquet Mountain in Pittsfield, MA. Uniting the Berkshire community with a celebration focused on the arts, music, and outdoor activities, the free event will include a performance by BSO musicians and an instrument playground.

Program Updates since Season Announcement
Full program information is now available at tanglewood.org for Prelude Concerts, which are offered on most Friday and Saturday evenings in either Ozawa Hall (Fridays) or Studio E at the Linde Center (Saturdays) from 6 to 7 p.m. Ticket holders for the 8 p.m. Shed concerts on those evenings may attend the Prelude Concert at no charge. Also available is program information for free TMC chamber and vocal music performances, which take place on Sundays at 10 a.m. from June 29 through August 17, plus several additional dates.

Tanglewood
Tanglewood, one of the country’s premier summer music festivals and summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra since 1937, is in the Berkshire Hills of Lenox and Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Tanglewood is also the home of the Tanglewood Music Center, the acclaimed summer music academy founded by Serge Koussevitzky in 1940.
