What better way to prepare for a dance party then with a dance class!
On November 12th, Reflections in Music presents Reflections on Ellington, a concert and dance party with a program devoted to music by the great Duke Ellington. In celebration of this concert, join us on November 9th from 5-6PM for a 1940s Style Dance Class. Learn the swing and the fox trot so you can show off your moves on the dance floor. A ticket to Reflections on Ellington provides free entry to the dance class. For those who are not attending the concert there will be a fee of $20 for the class.
Grab your dancing shoes and become a fox trot expert before dancing the night away while Bruce Wolosoff and Art Baron & The Duke’s Men transport The Church into a different era.
This one-hour class will be led by Alexandra M. Binder.
Housed in a deconsecrated 19th century Methodist church, The Church is a 501c-3 not-for-profit organization encompassing an artist residency, exhibition space, and creativity center. It is a place where local and national artists and creatives of all stripes work, meet and inspire each other. Artists Eric Fischl and April Gornik founded The Church in 2018 and have led its redesign with Skolnick Architecture + Design Partnership. The modern interior complements its historic frame and is emblematic of the contemporary program of events that animate the structure. The Church will increase access to the arts for our diverse audiences, foster creativity on the East End, and honor Sag Harbor’s long tradition as a maker’s village.
