LATE NIGHT OPEN STUDIO RETURNS
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11TH, 2023 | 6:30-9 PM
The Church Member: FREE, RSVP
The Church is passionate about welcoming artists to its space and establishing an oasis for creative inspiration and connection. The Church’s bi-monthly Late Night Open Studio is back! Artists of all mediums are invited to join, socialize, and work on any projects, whether past or current. Think coffee shop or a library for creatives, for moments when you would rather work in a community environment as opposed to alone in your studio or home. Attendees are responsible for bringing all their own supplies (including easels!). The Church is solely providing its studio (including tables and chairs) for artists to utilize and garner inspiration from. This open studio is free with RSVP for members and $10 for non-members, all ages are welcome. Whether you’re a painter, illustrator, sculptor, photographer, writer, or musician, we hope you will come and help us form a community. Let’s change the stereotype that all artists are introverts!
Please note, there is limited capacity, and this program will operate at a first come, first serve basis– RSVPing or purchasing a ticket through our website will guarantee a spot in the studio.
Furthermore, artists are responsible for all their own clean up; clean up should begin half an hour before the event concludes. Thank you!
The Church was established in 2019 by artists Eric Fischl and April Gornik. Housed in a deconsecrated 19th century church, its doors were opened in April 2021. Our mission is to foster creativity and to honor the living history of Sag Harbor as a maker village. The East End represents an exceptional artistic legacy, spanning the practices of indigenous art of several centuries ago, Abstract Expressionists of the mid 20th Century, and the many celebrated writers, makers, musicians, and visual artists of the recent past and current moment. Core programming includes visual art exhibitions, concerts and events, educational programming, workshops, lectures, and an artist’s residency.
