As you may know, The Suffolk is planning a large-scale expansion

of its building in the coming year.

The theater expansion will include:

• Deepening the stage by 20 feet

• Green room area

• 6 dressing rooms

• Artist restrooms

• Hospitality area

• Tour management office

• Laundry facilities

• Other support areas such as storage, etc.

Additional 5-story expansion above the back of the building

will include:

• Ground level commercial space

This project is crucial to the future success of The Suffolk – allowing us to do more with our space and ensuring the longevity of our organization as we plan to transform into a non-profit.

With this expansion, Suffolk Theater will be able to:

• Bring in larger acts both in physical size and celebrity.

• Present a wider variety of performing arts like circus acts, dance, theater, and more.

• Book shows and events on more days of the week.

• Better accommodate more community events with other organizations like dance recitals, large-scale school events, educational workshops, meeting space, rehearsal space, etc.

• Bring more visitors to the area.

But we can’t do this without help from our supporters like yourself and our town…

At the moment, Suffolk Theater has asked for $3 million from Riverhead’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant to facilitate the theater expansion, which could begin in 2 to 4 months; however, before the Local Planning Committee decides on funding for projects like ours,

they are seeking your input!

They are holding a public meeting on

Monday, July 11 at 6p.m. at the Long Island Aquarium.

As we understand you may be unable to attend the meeting in person, simply respond to this email with your thoughts if you’d like to show your support for our expansion!
