THE WESTHAMPTON BEACH PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

ANNOUNCES THE RETURN OF ITS

“MOMENTS” SERIES

PART OF IT’S NEW ADULT EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING

———

Last summer, WHBPAC piloted “Mommy Moments”, a program aimed at empowering women, specifically moms, hoping to change the culture of women on the East End and beyond.

This summer, the original “Mommy Moments” has been transformed into “The Moment,” a new initiative to connect local communities with renowned experts, innovators, and entrepreneurs working in various fields of interest. They will be sharing their expertise in hour-long seminars to engage participants in hands-on learning and adult education.

“The Moment” at WHBPAC is the brainchild of consultant and longtime WHBPAC supporter Colette Lettieri. In the spring of this year, she approached the Director of Arts Education Julienne Penza-Boone with the idea of a program designed to engage and empower adults in the community to participate in high quality arts education programs offered at WHBPAC. “The Moment has been the first step toward the Arts Academy’s adult education program, and it has been incredible to watch this spark of an idea catch fire! We’re so grateful to Colette for her inspiring work on this initiative,” says Ms. Penza-Boone. Due to the success of last summer, Colette is now looking to expand her outreach to adults of all ages, with a bit of something for everyone. Lettieri currently serves as the curator of “The Moment,” booking a wide variety of successful entrepreneurs to share their expertise.

The lineup for this summer is as diverse as it is enriching. Our first guest, Justin DeMarco of Justin’s Chop Shop, located right here in Westhampton Beach, will be sharing his tips for how to cut, cure, and prepare cuts of meat, perfect for summer barbecuing. Second, we will have Teresa Lawsky of “The Laurus Project” on July 22nd, who will share tips on health and wellness along with an overview of her organization and what everyone can do to help take part in it. On August 5th, makeup artist Cherise Loren will be giving advice on all things beauty: skincare tips, makeup advice to enhance your features, and her favorite products to use. Last but certainly not least, on August 12th, plastic surgeon Dr. Sachin Shridharani will give some of his expertise on surgical procedures, what to look for when getting them done, and how to find the best fit for you.

Each “Moment” will take place from 10:30-11:30 AM on Mondays throughout July and August, and they are free to attend. To RSVP call Julienne Penza-Boone at 631.288.2350, ext. 114 or email at juliennep@whbpac.org.
