Message from 2023 President
Dear Esteemed members of AIA Peconic,
As the year winds down, I’m pleased to reflect on our journey through 2023, which has been marked by remarkable growth and accomplishments.
Memorable highlights from this year’s events include the thought-provoking Gray Matters film screening and panel discussion at the Southampton Arts Center in March, the Residential New York Stretch Code Presentation in April at the Southampton Stony Brook campus, the Women in Architecture Speed Mentoring happy hour in June, the Montauk Walking Tour in September, our Annual Golf & Dinner Fundraiser in September, and the engaging Regional Planning Panel Discussion last month.
Our annual 2023 Design Awards celebration included the introduction of two new awards honoring Sustainability and contributions to our Community. We received a high number of design submissions that were reviewed by a world-class jury.
As a board, we conducted a strategic planning exercise that crystallized our focus on education, community engagement, and diversity—values that are the heartbeat of our organization.

I’m excited to pass the baton to Edgar Papazian, our 2024 President, and am confident in his vision for AIA Peconic.
Here’s to a new year filled with inspiration!
