Hello Members

2026 brings with it many possibilities for AIA Peconic, our Members, and the architecture comnunity in general.  Help us to shape the year by participating in the 2026 Member Survey.

One the things AIA Peconic plans to do this year is increase its contributions to public discourse and advocacy regarding regional planning to benefit community housing (starter homes, aging in place, affordable housing, etc).  A new committee (yet to be named) is being formed.  If you would like to participate, please email admin@aiapeconic.org by February 5.   A brainstorming session will be held over Zoom in mid-February.

Read on for some immediate opportunities, including a virtual offering of our sold-out in-person presentation on the 2025 REC and Stretch Code.  Big shout out to our event sponsor Greg D’Angelo Construction and our presenter Tom Baccarella of NYBT Group.

Maria Fumai Dietrich
Executive Director
AIA Peconic

P.S. A friendly word of caution regarding email scams: We have heard that folks have received fraudulent emails that appear to be sent by AIA Board leadership. Please exercise caution by double-checking the “From” address and reading with skepticism if a message asks for data or money.
