Art Omi Pavilions

Winter 2026 Newsletter

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To Our Community:
We are looking forward to welcoming you to the Grand Opening of our campus in Chatham, New York,
now taking place in Spring 2027. For those of you first receiving our newsletter,
Art Omi Pavilions is a new arts campus and institutional model in the Hudson Valley.
Located 15 minutes away from Art Omi in Ghent, The Pavilions brings together
distinguished artists and collectors, world class architects, and a singular landscape.
Our opening weekend will take place across our expansive 190 acre site overlooking
the Catskills, and will debut The Visitor Center by BKSK, as well as three legacy pavilions,
which are designed by an artist or collector in collaboration with architect of their choosing,
and built specifically for long term exhibitions of their work. Spring 2027 will premiere Phase One
of development for these unique structures: The Alice Aycock Pavilion by Aycock and Jahn/,
The Hort Family Museum by Michael and Susan Hort with BKSK, and The Rakuko Naito
and Tadaaki Kuwayama Pavilion by Naito, Kuwayama, and unit a, freie architekten bda.
We hope to see you in Chatham in 2027. Until then, please see below for several exciting
updates on our construction progress, fundraising, press, new website and brand identity.
Sincerely,
Francis J. Greenburger, Founder & Co-Executive Director
Natalie Diaz, Co-Executive Director
The Visitor Center by BKSK is now fully operational and occupied, providing new office
spaces to staff and educational resources to the community. The Aycock Pavilion is soon to follow,
Fundraising Updates
Art Omi Pavilions received a $1 million grant from US Department of Agriculture / Rural Development,
secured by Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer to support site infrastructure and capital
improvements. Founder and Co-Executive Director Francis Greenburger was quoted thanking Gillibrand
and Schumer in the attendant press release, adding, “This federal investment in Art Omi Pavilions will help
us bring world-class art, architecture, and landscape experiences to our local community and visitors
from across New York and beyond—while fueling the region’s continued economic growth and creative vitality.”
