Check out what Baylis Greene had to say about our Lost Foods of Long Island program from the other week!

“The clam pie was a revelation, as local delicacies go. Not a sloppy, briny mess, as the uninitiated (yours truly) may have imagined it, but firmly held together, larded up to the tune of four tablespoons, with cornmeal, potatoes, pork, and sage, the clam itself presumably rendered less mollusky by coming straight from the grinder.”

BHM Awarded $10,000 by Suffolk County!

BHM has been the recipient of the Suffolk County Omnibus Grant for many years, which typically funds arts and cultural programming. In 2023 BHM was awarded $5,000, and in 2024, $6,000. After a year of hard work, our legislator Ann Welker has seen it fit to increase our funding to $10,000!

In a letter to the museum Ann wrote, ““Funding for the arts is critical to the cultural vibrancy of our community, and I am pleased to support the excellent contributions your programs bring to the East End.”

Gifts and Carols: A Community Sing-Along

Saturday, December 7 from 4 to 6pm

The Nathaniel Rogers House

2539 Montauk Hwy., BH., NY 11932

Come celebrate the holiday season with your friends and family at the historic Nathaniel Rogers House and give back to the community. We will be hosting a Toy Drive where individuals and businesses are invited to participate by donating wrapped gifts (no more than $30 in value) for local children this holiday season. Gifts should be accompanied by a note indicating what the item is and the age range it would be best for. We are looking for gifts for children ages 1 to 18 years old. You can also spread cheer by donating to the Hampton Library’s Book Angels to help get books into the hands of children in Bridgehampton and Sagaponack. Join us for a night of celebration and community building and then end the night by singing songs of the season with The Dickens Victorian Carolers.

“The Sculpture and the Lawnmower Adventure or Why I am Afraid of Lawnmowers” is a charming and fun story. It begins when an abstract sculpture comes to life and shares its journey of finding out who it really is. It interacts with its quirky creator, “DAD,” and a kind family who adopts it. The sculpture learns about art, identity, and what it means to belong. Full of humor and heart, this story is perfect for anyone who loves creativity and seeing the world in a different way. Join author Mary Dinaburg for a chance to learn about the real life inspiration for the book which has its home on Ocean Road here in Bridgehampton. Copies of the book will be for sale in our gift shop.

Support the Mission

Donate to our Annual Appeal Today!

——————————-

Our mission is to inspire the public’s awareness of,

and appreciation for, our community’s history,

oral history, and cultural traditions.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As the year draws to a close, we at the Bridgehampton Museum reflect on what has been a truly transformative year. Our exhibits, educational programs, and community outreach have continued to grow, all thanks to the unwavering support of dedicated individuals like you. We are incredibly grateful for your past generosity, and we humbly ask for your continued support as we look toward the future.
Our mission of preservation, education, and stewardship of the rich history of Bridgehampton has never been more vital. This past year, your generosity helped us introduce over 50 new programs, including blacksmithing classes, which brought history to life for more than 10,000 visitors. It’s through these efforts that we have connected with countless residents, students, and visitors, each of whom has left with a deeper appreciation for the history that shapes our present.
As we launch our Annual Appeal, your donation will ensure that we can continue our essential work in preserving the stories of Bridgehampton and fostering a love of history in our community. A gift of any size will have a lasting impact, helping us maintain our collections, expand our programs, and complete critical restoration projects.
We thank you, as always, for being part of our community and for your commitment to keeping history alive. Together, we can ensure that the Bridgehampton Museum remains a cornerstone of learning, culture, and pride for generations to come.
