Video at the Bridgehampton Museum:

Bridgehampton Races

and the Disappearing 300 SL

This summer, a team from the HHI Concours d’Elegance & Motoring Festival visited the Bridgehampton Museum to film in our Bridgehampton Racing Circuit exhibit room. The video highlights fascinated pieces from our collection, including the 1962 World Sportscar Championship trophy and a race suit, helmet, and goggles on loan to us. Notably, the team focused on a black-and-white photograph of Max Hoffman in a Mercedes 300 SL, delving into the mystery of the sportscar’s disappearance. Join us as we celebrate the rich racing heritage of Bridgehampton and the 70th anniversary of the iconic Mercedes 300 SL.

Helen Hoie-Inspired Collage Workshop

Thursday, October 24 from 4 to 6pm

The Nathaniel Rogers House

2539 Montauk Hwy., BH, NY 11932

In partnership with St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, the Bridgehampton Museum brings you a hands-on collage workshop inspired by the works of Helen Hoie. Helen, a long-time resident of East Hampton along with her husband and fellow artist Clause Hoie, had much of their work and estate donated after their passing which both St. Luke’s and BHM were beneficiaries of. Join us for a study of Helen’s beautiful collage work and then sit down with friends and create your own Helen inspired piece! We ask that participants donate $20 upon registration or bring with them fabric to donate towards the collage process.
