We are excited to announce that Chief Curator, Richard Barons, has completed a book to be released this summer entitled,

Behind the Privets:

Classic Hamptons Houses.

The book was completed for the Historical Society by Richard as a collaborative project with stunning photography by Stan Rumbough, foreword by Alec Baldwin,and preface by David Netto.
This beautiful coffee table book is expected to be available in June, so watch for more information about a book launch event.

Maria Vann, Executive Director, was selected to present her historical research this fall at The Hakluyt Society Symposium 2019: Rethinking Power in Maritime Encounters (1400-1900) at the Leiden University, the Netherlands.
Maria’s presentation is entitled,
“The Bloomer Controlled the Whole of Us:” The Dichotomy of Female Slave Ship Owners and Maritime Women as Agents of Power.
Less than 40% of proposals were selected for this conference, kudos Maria!
