Become a Volunteer for 2rs For Fun!

Now in our second year, 2Rs4fun! is an after-school and out-of-school creative writing program designed for 3rd and 4th graders. The program was initiated by Mary Dwyer, a retired teacher, in the Shelter Island School District in the Spring of 2008. Its official name is “The Intergenerational Enrichment Literacy Program,” and it aims to enhance the creative writing skills and literacy of the participating students. We are thrilled to announce that through a collaborative effort between East End Arts, Southampton Youth Bureau, and the F.A.S.T program (Fun Activities with Snacks and Time for Homework), students from Riverhead’s Phillips Avenue Elementary School will have the chance to participate in this priceless program.
