Want to learn more? In collaboration with Rava Films, we’ve produced a trio of videos about the exhibition, the artist, and what it takes to install Kelly’s massive Yellow Curve, 1990.

Alex Da Corte’s As Long as the Sun Lasts, 2021, opens to visitors today, February 15. Mixing references from art history and Italian literature with children’s toys, Sesame Street, and Donna Summer, As Long as the Sun Lasts is now installed on Gallery Road, overlooking the Gallery pond, marking the first long-term addition to Glenstone’s outdoor sculpture program since 2022.

“In order to tell the truth, you need to invent what might be missing from the archive, to collapse time, to concern yourself with issues of scale, to formally move things around in a way that reveals something more true than fact. That’s always what I’ve been trying to do in sculpture.”—Simone Leigh

In May, Glenstone will unveil Simone Leigh’s Satellite, 2022, along the Woodland Trail. At twenty-four feet tall and weighing 6,000 pounds, Satellite is a monumental abstraction that incorporates motifs from the African diaspora, a hallmark of Leigh’s practice.
