EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT

HISTORICAL FARM EQUIPMENT,

A GUIDED WALKING TOUR

AT HALLOCKVILLE MUSEUM FARM

SATURDAY, JUNE 1

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Farming is hard work, and it was even more difficult before mechanical inventions of the 19th century paved the way for modern farming techniques. Agricultural expert Dale Moyer and historian Richard Wines will lead a tour of the barns, grounds and historical farm equipment at Hallockville Museum Farm, explain how it worked, and compare these tools to a farmer’s modern-day equivalent. Hallockville Museum Farm, located at 6038 Sound Ave. in Riverhead, is a 28-acre preserved farm homestead that dates back to 1765.  The Historic Farm Equipment tour hours will be 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and tour admission will be $10 for the general public and free to Hallockville Museum Farm members.
