Through foods, festivals, farming and surnames, the influence of Eastern Europeans permeates the East End. On Saturday, April 19, from 10 – 11:30 a.m., Hallockville Museum Farm at 6038 Sound Ave., Riverhead, will host a historical walking tour about the Polish Immigrant Experience. Join local historians Richard Wines and Paul Hoffman as they lead a tour on the farm about the Polish migration to Long Island during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Tour participants are invited to bring their own stories and photos related to this experience that can be shared at the event.
The Walking History Tour is free to Hallockville members and $10 for nonmembers. Interested persons may register online at www.hallockville.org.
