Hampton Theatre Company Announces Exciting

42nd Season of Live Theatre

QUOGUE, NY — The Hampton Theatre Company (HTC) is proud to announce its 42nd season of live theatre at the Quogue Community Hall, located at 125 Jessup Avenue, Quogue, NY. Continuing its longstanding tradition of presenting outstanding theatrical productions that both entertain and illuminate the human experience, HTC’s 2026–2027 season promises laughter, suspense, and heartwarming holiday cheer.

“As we look ahead to our 42nd season, the Hampton Theatre Company remains as committed as ever to presenting the very best in live theatre entertainment—plays that engage audiences while exploring the heart of the human condition,” said HTC President Rosemary Cline.

The season opens with “Finishing School” by Elaine Liner, running October 15 through November 1, 2026. This charming and insightful comedy is the second production presented as part of the Jane Stanton “Women in Theatre” Project, made possible through a generous grant from The Fridolin Charitable Trust. Set in a retirement community, the play follows two spirited friends whose daily routines are delightfully disrupted by new arrivals who encourage a lonely widower to take a chance on love again. Filled with humor and warmth, “Finishing School” celebrates friendship, aging, and the possibility of second acts in life.

The suspense intensifies in the spring with “Dial M for Murder (Hatcher),” running March 4 through March 21, 2027. Jeffrey Hatcher’s acclaimed adaptation of the classic thriller reimagines the famous tale of a calculating husband who devises the perfect crime against his wealthy wife. As secrets unravel and loyalties shift, audiences will be drawn into a gripping game of deception, betrayal, and unexpected twists.

Closing the season will be “Noises Off” by Michael Frayn, running May 20 through June 6, 2027. A hilarious comedy about a struggling theater company trying to put on a play—while everything that can possibly go wrong does. With slamming doors, missed cues, and backstage romance, this fast-paced farce delivers one comic disaster after another. It’s a play about a play— and it’s absolute backstage pandemonium!

In addition to its three mainstage productions, HTC will continue our beloved holiday tradition with “A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play,” returning by popular demand December 11–13, 2026. This family-friendly holiday favorite recreates Charles Dickens’ timeless story as a live 1940s radio broadcast and is included free with season subscriptions as HTC’s gift to its patrons.
