Long Island Arts Alliance is pleased to share two significant funding opportunities currently available to support arts, culture, education, and tourism initiatives across Long Island. We encourage eligible organizations, municipalities, and individual artists to review the details below and apply if appropriate.

2026 Suffolk County Destination Development:

History, Arts & Culture Grant Program

Administered by Discover Long Island

This competitive capital and engagement grant supports projects that strengthen Suffolk County’s historic, arts, and cultural tourism assets. Priority is given to initiatives that enhance visitor experience, elevate local identity, and contribute to year-round tourism and economic impact.

Projects must be implemented within the 2026 calendar year.

Award Amount: $5,000–$35,000

Match Requirement: Minimum 50% cash or in-kind match

Deadline: Thursday, April 30, 2026

Eligible Applicants (Suffolk County only):

  • Nonprofit organizations (501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6))
  • Museums, historical societies, and cultural institutions
  • Arts organizations and performing arts venues
  • Municipalities, towns, villages, and counties
  • Public-private partnerships focused on cultural tourism

*Applicants must be partners in good standing with Discover Long Island.

NYSCA Statewide Community Regrant (SCR) Program

Administered locally by the Huntington Arts Council

Funding is available through three distinct grant opportunities supporting arts programming, arts education, and new artistic work that benefits Long Island communities (both Nassau and Suffolk Counties).

All projects take place January 1–December 31, 2026.

Important Eligibility Note:

Individual artists or organizations that applied directly to NYSCA for 2026 funding (regardless of outcome) or that hold multi-year NYSCA funding covering FY 2026 are not eligible.

About the Grant: Supports creation of new artistic work by individual artists

that engages Long Island communities and highlights the role of artists in shaping local culture.

About the Grant: Supports public arts and cultural programming across all disciplines that strengthens community connections and celebrates local culture. All funded activities must be open to the public.

  • 501(c)(3) or NYS nonprofit organizations with an active board
  • Government or quasi-governmental entities in Nassau or Suffolk
  • Tribal organizations in New York State

About the Grant: Supports arts education projects connecting teaching artists with learners in structured environments, including Pre-K–12 programs and community-based cohorts. Projects must be presented in partnership with a school or established group such as a club, senior community, or social service program.

  • Artist collectives
  • 501(c)(3) or NYS nonprofit organizations with an active board
  • Government or quasi-governmental entities in Nassau or Suffolk
  • Tribal organizations in New York State
