SEPTEMBER 14 VACCINE CLINIC AT THE PLAYHOUSE
Stony Brook Southampton Hospital and Stony Brook Medicine will administer free first shot Pfizer Covid-19 vaccinations on Tuesday, September 14 from 4-8pm at the Montauk Playhouse Community Center. Open to those 12 years and older, no appointments are required. Bring an ID and wear short sleeves. (Second dose scheduled for October 5, 4-8pm.) Presented in partnership with OLA and the Town of East Hampton. More info.

MONDAY NIGHT MUSIC IN MONTAUK

WATER QUALITY EDUCATIONAL KIOSK AT DITCH
Concerned Citizens of Montauk (CCOM) will have an educational kiosk at Ditch Plains’ Otis parking lot tomorrow (Tuesday, August 31) from 10am-1pm as part of their new “Save Montauk’s Waters” awareness campaign, designed to help educate the community about local water quality issues. Stop by to learn more about this timely topic as well as their current initiatives. More info.

AUTHOR TALK WITH TOM CLAVIN: “DARK NOON”
On Wednesday, September 1 at 6:30pm at the lighthouse, the 70th anniversary of Montauk’s tragic fishing disaster, the sinking of the fishing boat “Pelican,” will be commemorated at an event with bestselling author Tom Clavin. Tom will read excerpts from and discuss “Dark Noon,” his book on the subject. Free. More info.

FREE MONTAUK MOVIE NIGHT
The Chamber of Commerce presents a free screening of “The Princess Bride,” on Tuesday, August 31 beginning at 8pm at the soccer field on South Erie Street. The screening is made possible by CoreysWave and the Montauk Film Festival. More info.

LIGHTHOUSE FEATURED IN NEW STAMP SERIES
The iconic Montauk Lighthouse is depicted in a new stamp series of Mid-Atlantic lighthouses issued by the US Postal Service. The stamps can be purchased at Post Offices nationwide, and online. More Info.

RED DEVIL SWIM FOR THE EHVOR
East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue presents their annual “Red Devil Swim” on Sunday, September 5 at Atlantic Avenue Beach in Amagansett. Proceeds support their essential services. More info.

BENEFIT PERFORMANCE OF “THE RIME”
Gabriel Portuondo will perform “The Rime”—a one-man interpretation of Coleridge’s epic ballad “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner”—outdoors at the lighthouse on September 3, 11 and 18. Tickets are $25 and proceeds benefit lighthouse preservation efforts.More info.

COLESCOTT EXHIBIT AT SOUTH ETNA
“My Shadow,” a solo exhibition of works by American artist Robert Colescott (1925-2009) is on view through October 3rd at the South Etna Montauk Foundation gallery (6 South Etna Avenue). The show features paintings and drawings from 1969-1994. More info.
