Join us for a book reading of HISTORY BY A HAIR by author Richard Kurin. HISTORY BY A HAIR is the definitive account of how a discarded strand of hair found in Thomas Jefferson’s Bible led to a sweeping, multi-year genomic investigation, drawing on technological advances in DNA to finally resolve a 200-year national controversy. Reading followed by an author Q&A.

The NFAC Chamber Players will open their 2026-27 season with a performance of three masterpieces for Violin and Piano performed by resident Violinist Robert Chausow and brilliant pianist Eleonor Bindman. The performance will consist of sonatas by J.S. Bach, L. v. Beethoven and Edvard Grieg. We hope you can join us for a special evening of beautiful music. Join us for a celebratory opening reception. Light bites and wine will be served. There will be a panel discussion prior to the reception, topics and panelists to be announced. Bring your outlines, drafts, or completed works for a play or musical to share and develop in a lively and supportive environment. Through a collaborative, peer-to-peer process and guided feedback, we’ll explore what works – and what doesn’t work – on the stage. The class will also include cues on structure, character development, dialogue, stage directions, pacing, beats, subtext and the role of the playwright in production. Above all, this workshop fosters an encouraging and creative environment.
