OHS collects, preserves, interprets, and shares—through education, exhibitions, and scholarship—the history of the hamlets of Orient and East Marion. OHS maintains an 8 1/2 acre campus comprised of seven historically-significant buildings located in the heart of Orient’s landmark historic district. The OHS collections include over 60,000 artifacts, works of art, and archival objects dating from early Native American times up to the present day.
* Mission: Oysterponds Historical Society (OHS) brings people together to share and celebrate the unique history and culture of the North Fork hamlets of Orient and East Marion. By presenting shared experiences from the past, we connect our rich heritage to the present and pass it on to future generations.
