FILM | 5th Annual Black Film Festival co-presented with the Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8 at 6 PM
Join us for the 5th Annual Black Film Festival, Part II, as the Parrish continues its collaboration with the Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center, Suffolk County Office of Minority Health, Witness Project of Long Island, and Black Public Media. The Parrish will screen Can You Bring It: Bill T. Jones and D-Man in the Waters, a feature documentary that traces one of the most important works of art to come out of the age of AIDS—Bill T. Jones’ tour de force ballet “D-Man in the Waters.” The screening is followed by a panel with Producer and Co-Director Rosalynde LeBlanc; social worker, poet, and activist Lora Rene Tucker; and John Oppenheimer, M.D, Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. At 5 PM, join us for a tour of the Museum’s exhibitions on view, led by Chief Curator Corinne Erni.

Create art inspired by Museum exhibitions and works on view—including A New Subjectivity 1979/2024Audrey Flack: Mid-Century to Post-Pop Baroque, and Beyond Reality: Paintings and Drawings by Bertrand Meniel—in this free Open Studio class for you and your family. Explore materials and discover your process. Drop-in sessions are limited to 30 minutes and all ages must be accompanied by an adult. No advanced registration is required. Free with Museum admission!

TALK | Charlotte Park: The Life of Forms in Color with Robert Lehman Curator Klaus Ottmann
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22 at 6 PM
Join us for a discussion in the Lichtenstein Theater on artist Charlotte Park by Klaus Ottmann, Robert Lehman Curator. Charlotte Park: The Life of Forms in Color follows Park’s abstractions of color and form, inspired by organic life, from her diffident embraces of color from the mid-1950s through playful and assertive compositions in the 1980s. Ottmann will delve into Park’s work in abstraction, color, and form, often related to the environment where she lived and worked. Registration is now open!

IN THE MEADOW | Tokyo Brushstrokes I and II by Roy Lichtenstein
The wait is over—the restoration of Roy Lichtenstein’s Tokyo Brushstrokes I and II has been completed! Made of painted and fabricated aluminum, the 33-foot and 19-foot tall sculptures were installed in 2014, marking the first outdoor installation at the Parrish Art Museum’s Herzog & de Meuron-designed building. Visible from Montauk Highway, the works are on a long-term loan from the Collection of Glenn and Amanda Fuhrman.
