NEW ACQUISITION | Simone Leigh’s Sphinx, 2021
Simone Leigh’s body of work spans sculptures, videos, and installations that explore Black female-identified subjectivity. Leigh describes her work as auto-ethnographic, and her salt-glazed ceramic and bronze sculptures often employ forms traditionally associated with African art.

END OF YEAR | Parrish Art Museum’s #TopNine for 2023
The Museum’s “Top Nine” features the nine most popular posts shared on the Parrish Instagram account in 2023. A post from the opening week of James Brooks: A Painting Is a Real Thing swept the top spot, followed by the Parrish staff’s recent celebration of Roy Lichtenstein’s 100th birthday!

BY THE NUMBERS | A Glimpse at Our Impact in 2023
In 2023, the Parrish Art Museum was a beacon of artistic innovation, inspiration, and cultural enrichment in the East End. The numbers above underscore the impact of your generosity in 2023 — a reflection of our shared commitment to fostering engagement with the arts, nurturing talent, and building a resilient and vibrant arts community. Thank you for your support in making these achievements possible.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS | Fairfield Porter’s Lizzie, Guitar and Christmas Tree, No. 2
Holidays look different for everyone. In Fairfield Porter’s painting of his daughter, Elizabeth, we get an intimate glimpse of the holidays in the Porter home as Porter’s youngest daughter practices guitar in an evening-lit room aglow with the soft iridescence of Christmas lights behind her.

We at Parrish Art Museum wish you a joyous holiday season filled with warmth, laughter,

and time spent with loved ones.
