| For 38 summers, Pianofest has brought the next generation of pianists to the East End — young artists who are already starting to make their mark worldwide.
This summer, the festival takes a new shape: one group of pianists, five weeks, every Monday in Southampton, plus concerts in East Hampton and Westhampton.
Pianofest will welcome a single group of eleven artists for a concentrated five-week residency. Rather than splitting the season into two sessions, this year you’ll have the chance to follow the same rising stars from the first concert to the last, week after week, hearing the artistry deepen as you get to know them better and better.
Friendships form between the performers and audiences. Conversations continue after concerts at receptions and celebrations. |

| The center of the season unfolds on Monday at 5:30 at the Southampton Cultural Center. After each concert, the gallery becomes a reception space where you can meet the artist you just heard, the friends you’ve been making over the summer, and the faculty who shape each performance.

A Few Notes from the Alumni Roll
Pianists you’d recognize from past summers have had a remarkable year:
Michelle Cann — Pianofest alumna and faculty — won the 2025 Grammy for Best Classical Solo Vocal Album for her recording of Florence Price’s unpublished songs with soprano Karen Slack.
Jack Gao (’23 and ’24) won the 2025 Martha Argerich Steinway Prize in Hamburg, personally awarded by Argerich herself, who said she was “moved by his profound sensitivity, stylistic flexibility and dazzling virtuosity, all combined in his artistic openness.”
Angeline Ma (’23) won the 2026 Juilliard Concerto Competition and performed Brahms’s Second Concerto with the Juilliard Orchestra at Alice Tully Hall.
These are the artists you might have heard on a Monday evening in Southampton a few summers ago. This year, the pianists you’ll hear are the next chapter, and are on their way to the international stage. |
