| Autumn is a perfect time to explore the trails at the Trust’s Wolf and Reese preserves in search of migrating birds. With 50 acres of protected land and trails with accessibility features, these preserves offer meadows, woodlands and wetlands that include several bluebird and wood duck boxes. Our walk will be led by one of North Fork Audubon Society’s expert birders, Tom Damiani. Bring your binoculars. Parking is limited, please carpool.

Learning How to Help Cold-Stunned Turtles

| Cold stunning is the number one cause of sea turtle fatality, and this is why NYMRC needs your help! The NY Marine Rescue Center are the primary responders for sick or injured sea turtles and marine mammals in New York and maintain the only permanent rehabilitation center for these animals in New York State. All are welcome to attend this Level 2 training program, which provides education on species identification, proper sea turtle care, and in field support techniques for responding to cold stunned sea turtles.

Shape the Future of Broad Cove Preserve!

Help create a long-term vision for the Broad Cove Preserve in Aquebogue, NY! The Preserve is a 100-acre property dedicated to conservation and public access. In preparing the site plan, the Peconic Land Trust wants to hear YOUR vision of a visit with nature.Please take a few minutes to take the Broad Cove Survey. Your response will help inform the site plan and an open-house workshop on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2026. The workshop will be held at the RIVERHEAD PUBLIC LIBRARY (330 Court Street in Riverhead) between 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Drop in during that time to share your ideas about opportunities and features for the Broad Cove Preserve. We’ll see you then.
