There’s a new crop of successful and entrepreneurial farmers growing fresh food for your table! Hear about the innovative approaches of four farmers leasing land through the Trust’s Farms for the Future program, including Andie Fortier and James Burke of Sand and Soil, Kim Marsinko of Coastal Logistics and Supply, and Phil Yashinowsky of Ocean to Earth Gardens. Refreshments provided.

Getting Your Organic Vegetable Garden Started

Now is the perfect time to begin your vegetable garden. This workshop, led by Renato Stafford of Homegrown Organic Food, will cover everything from creating compost, selecting and starting seeds, transplanting seedlings, and garden layout, to harvesting and using vegetables in the kitchen. You will plant some seeds to take home and get your garden started for the season!

Join us for our annual seeding workshop and help the farm get a start for this year’s growing season! Meet at the greenhouse and enjoy this peaceful activity with Farm Director Layton Guenther and Farm Manager Madison Aldrich. You’ll plant a variety of seeds in the growing trays and learn about the importance of healthy soil and methods for making and using compost. All participants are invited to return on May 17 to help transplant the seedlings into the fields.
