Take your charitable giving
to the next level in 2024. Here’s how!
|
|
|
- Are you 70 ½ or older and have a pre-tax IRA? You could be in a prime position to make a savvy financial move with a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). The IRS allows each individual to gift up to $100,000 directly from your IRA to a public charity, like The Peconic Land Trust, which can allow you to avoid paying taxes on the distribution and may also satisfy your current (or reduce your future) required minimum distribution (RMDS).
- Interested in donating your property to the Trust? It can be a straightforward process. We handle all the paperwork, making it easy for you to significantly impact conservation while potentially reducing your tax burden
- Have highly appreciated securities? When you donate non-cash assets like stock, bonds, or mutual funds to the Trust, you’ll take a tax deduction for the total fair market value and avoid paying capital gains taxes!
- Have you had a financial windfall? Consider “bunching” your charitable deductions, so that you can claim the itemized instead of the standard deduction amount. Give gifts this year that you may have intended to make in future years and maximize your charitable contributions.
We are grateful for your support of conservation. Always remember, it’s important to review these options with your financial advisor before making charitable contributions. We are also here to help! Please feel free to contact Amanda Abraham at AAbraham@PeconicLandTrust.org or by calling 631-283-3195. Thank you! |

Bridge Gardens, 36 Mitchell Lane, Bridgehampton
Most people identify trees based on their leaves or flowers, but learning how to identify a tree from its bark, buds, and branches can be fun too. And the branching structure in the dormant months tell the tree’s story. Join us for an in-person, outdoor walk with local arborist Tom Volk of Summerhill Landscapes to learn about the many different trees growing throughout the garden and hone your skills!
$5/person suggested donation. Space is limited, reservations required. Rain cancels. |
