Owl Animal Ambassador Storytime
Saturday, January 6th at 10:00 AM

Join children’s librarian from Quogue Library for a special story hour, including a simple craft and a special visit from one of our ambassador animals. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This free program is in collaboration with the Quogue Library, reservations required.

Tree Time Toddlers
Tuesdays, January 9th and 23rd, 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM

Join us for this fun, interactive nature-based program for children ages 2 to 4. Each session includes a story or lesson, a nature experience & a craft. Meet in the nature center but dress for the weather as we’ll explore together outdoors for some very special tree time.

$15 members/$20 non-members; each ticket includes one child and one adult.

Guided Winter Hike
Saturday, January 13th, 9:00 AM- 11:00 AM

Join QWR Educator for a guided hike to the ecologically rare dwarf pines ecosystem. This 3-mile hike is on relatively flat terrain, and will include information along the way about the native flora and fauna.

Space limited. $5.00 per person.

Live Birds of Prey!
Saturday, January 13th, 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM

Join us in the nature center to meet our resident raptors in person. During this 45-minute presentation, you will learn about native Long Island raptor species, as well as how you can help protect them.  Learn about their diets, habitats, and physical adaptations that make them excellent hunters. For adults and families with children age 6 and older.

Reservations and pre-payment necessary. $10 per person, $5 per child under 10.

Vultures!
Sunday, January 21st at 2:00 PM

Learn all about the fascinating ways of vultures through an informative power point presentation in the nature center, then meet Vlad, a non-releasable turkey vulture who resides at EAWRC.  This one-hour program is offered by EAWRC and QWR.

Reservations required as space is limited.

$5.00 per person, proceeds support both organizations.

Full Moon Night Hike
Thursday, January 25th, 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM

Celebrate the full moon with a guided hike through the forest up to North Pond as we look and listen for nocturnal creatures, and enjoy some night vision activities under the light of the moon.

Reservations and payment required at least 24 hours in advance.  A program for adults and families with children over 9.  $10.00/ members, $20.00/non-members.

Light the Night Winter Trail Walk
Saturday, January 27th
Reservations available between 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM  

Join us for this magical winter evening walk.  Come to the Refuge for a self-guided, peaceful stroll through the gently lit forest trails.  A program for adults and families. Bring a reusable mug and enjoy a warm beverage.

$15.00 per person, $10.00 for kids 12 and under. Please purchase tickets on our website.
