Winter Bird & Seal Watching Cruise

Saturday, January 31st, 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Join us for a winter adventure on Shinnecock Bay aboard Stony Brook University’s marine research vessel, the R/V Peconic. Winter is a great time to view seals and migratory birds that spend the winter season in the variety of habitats that Shinnecock Bay offers. While onboard, learn from naturalist Chris Paparo, the “Fish Guy,” who will share fascinating insights about the wildlife we encounter. Bring binoculars and bundle up for this adventure. This program is being offered by Quogue Wildlife Refuge and the Eastern Long Island Audubon Society. Please dress for cold weather by wearing hats, gloves, long warm jackets and pants, consider hand and toe warmers. Boat departs from the Stony Brook Marine Station in Southampton.

$45 per person; $40 per person for QWR 2026 Members or ELIAS Members. Must register in advance.
