Earth Yoga with Amy Hess

Join yoga instructor Amy Hess for a one hour class in the nature center.  Please bring a yoga mat.

Full Moon Night Hike
Tuesday, September 17th, 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Celebrate the full moon with a nighttime hike through the forest up to North Pond as we look and listen for nocturnal creatures, and enjoy some night vision activities under the light of the moon. 

Reservations required at least 24 hours in advance; payment required at time of reservation. A program for adults and families with children over 11.  $10/members, $20/non-members.

LINPI Native Plant Sale at QWR
Saturday, 21st, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (or until sold out!)

Fall is the perfect time for planting, and what better way to support Long Island’s natural beauty and wildlife than by planting native plants? 

Stop by the Refuge to purchase some native plants grown and sold by Long Island Native Plant Initiative.  For info about what LINPI does, visit linpi.org.

Fall Foliage Paddle
Tuesday, September 24th, 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM 

Observe the various species of freshwater fish, turtles, and birds which live in and around this 100+ year old pond that was originally created for ice harvesting by the Quogue Ice Company.  This paddle will be self-guided, and a naturalist will be on the pond for any questions.  This program will be weather dependent, and is appropriate for adults and families with children ages 7 and up. Rain date Wednesday, September 25th. Children 10 & under must be in a boat with an adult.

Single kayaks, double kayaks, and canoes will be reserved at time of registration. $25 per adult, $15 for kids 10 and under.

Bird Walk with Group for the East End
Saturday, September 28th, 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM 

Join Group for the East End’s Director of Environmental Education, Steve Biasetti, for a guided bird walk at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge.  The Refuge is an excellent stopping off point for south-bound songbirds, and there is a good chance to spot warblers and other migratory birds on their fall migration.  Please bring your own binoculars. Limited to 15 participants, for adults and families with children over 12 years old. Pre-registration required.
