This Memorial Day weekend, we are excited to unveil the transformation of Southampton Arts Center’s historic 2.7-acre grounds with the reopening of the newly reimagined Paulson Family Gardens.
Made possible by a generous $3.4 million gift from the Paulson Family Foundation, this restoration reimagines the heart of Southampton Village as a true cultural oasis. The project brings expanded gardens and florals, more than 50 new trees, a new fountain, improved accessible pathways, and a beautifully designed outdoor performance space for live programming and community gatherings.
Originally designed in 1898 by architect Grosvenor Atterbury, the site carries a rich legacy as the former home of the Parrish Art Museum and remains a cornerstone of Southampton’s cultural history. Today, that legacy continues with a renewed vision for connection, creativity, and public engagement.
As SAC Chairperson Simone Levinson shared, the goal was to create “an oasis in the heart of Southampton Village,” where art, nature, and community come together.
