Sag Harbor Cinema (SHC) is pleased to announce that six East End artists have generously donated their original artwork for a special art auction during the Cinema’s Annual Benefit. The Benefit will take place August 17 at Bridgehampton Tennis and Surf Club and will honor the work of actress Naomi Watts, who will be in attendance, with the Sag Harbor Cinema Voyager Award.
A preview of the auction pieces will take place at Keyes Art Gallery (45 Main Street, Sag Harbor) on August 4 from 5pm-7pm and will include pieces by Ross Bleckner, Nanette Carter, Jeremy Dennis, Eric Fischl, Cornelia Foss, and David Salle.

“Artists have been at the forefront of the Sag Harbor Cinema’s restoration, beginning with a major gift from Eric Fischl and numerous art auctions organized by artist and Founding Chair April Gornik,” said Nick Gazzolo, Co-Chair of the Benefit Committee. “Their dedication and generosity have been instrumental in reviving this cherished cultural landmark on 90 Main Street in Sag Harbor.”
April Gornik added, “Six VERY fine artists have donated exceptional work for this show, and we are thrilled to be able to start bidding at 50% of retail prices. This is a don’t-miss opportunity!”

Bidding on these six pieces will commence online at the preview reception at the Keyes Art Gallery on August 4 and be on view until the day of the event. The bidding will conclude during the Benefit on August 17 at the Bridgehampton Tennis and Surf Club. The Cinema’s crucial fundraising event will also honor the career of actress Naomi Watts (Mulholland Drive, 21 Grams, “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans”) by presenting her with the non-profit organization’s inaugural Voyager Award for her exceptional contributions to the film industry and her unwavering support for the arts.
In addition to the art auction, the Cinema’s Benefit will offer unique experiences such as tickets to Billy Joel concerts, a golf outing with J.J. Redick at The Bridge, and a barge trip in Belgium. All proceeds from the auction will directly benefit Sag Harbor Cinema, supporting its mission to provide diverse, curated cinematic experiences to the community.
Sag Harbor Cinema’s Annual Benefit on August 17th starts at 6:30pm with a cocktail reception followed by dinner, a live auction, dancing with the Hoodoo Loungers, and a bonfire on the beach.
