Suffolk County Historical Society awarded $4,950.00 conservation grant from the Greater Hudson Heritage Network.
The Suffolk County Historical Society is pleased to announce that we are the recipient of a $4950 grant from the Greater Hudson Heritage Network for the conservation of Hells Gate, an oil-on-canvas painting by Ernest Lawson, circa 1910. The work will be completed by conservator Alexander Katlan.
The Greater Hudson Heritage Network (www.greaterhudson.org) has awarded $104K in conservation treatment grants to 24 organizations in NY State, from the eastern end of Long Island to the shores of Lake Erie. These funds provide treatment by professional conservators to aid in stabilizing, preserving, and making accessible to the public an array of unique objects in the collections of NY State’s museums, historical societies, and cultural organizations.
