This Labor Day weekend may mark the unofficial end of summer,

but there’s no end to the festivities at the Shelter Island History Center!

———————–

The special guest at this Saturday’s Havens Farmers’ Market is author and Adelphi University professor Yvonne Korshak who will talk about her novel, Pericles and Aspasia, a love story set in ancient Greece.

Farmers’ Market hours are 9am to 12:30pm every Saturday through October 12.

On Monday, September 2, the students who participated in Jude Amsel’s adult and children’s ceramics classes this summer will showcase their projects at an Art Show in the Havens Barn. Friends, family and art lovers can view the works from Noon to 2pm, after which the students can take home their ceramics.

If you haven’t already, mark Saturday, September 28 on your calendars! That’s the date of our fourth Oysters ‘R’ Here event. Come on over to the History Center from 4 to 7pm and enjoy all the oysters you can eat, as well as a silent auction, raffle, live music and much more. Tickets are available at the Farmers’ Market, the History Center or online at
