Looking for a good read about Shelter Island

…and also a fun adventure?

Purchase your copy of Shelter Island’s Historic Places today and then venture around the Island and see the historic locations for yourself!

A 1966 Act of Congress created the National Register of Historic Places and since then, nine Shelter Island places have been registered.

This book delves into the historic places that have gone through the arduous process of being registered, but it is not finished…many more buildings and locations deserve to be preserved and registered, and no doubt the number of nationally-registered places on this little Island will grow.
