LOOKING FOR A FUN NEW CHALLENGE?

The Shelter Island History Museum can help you expand your knowledge about local history and your social network by joining our volunteer corps. No need to wait til summer! Right now you can aid with researching and cataloging our archives and museum collection, preparing upcoming exhibits, and other Behind The Scenes tasks. In just a few short weeks, we will also be in need of volunteers to greet visitors at our welcome desk and guide them through our exhibits.

The weekly Havens Farmers Market starts May 24th! Along with it, we will need assistance with parking, raffle sales, setup and breakdown, and more. Events like our House Tour and Summer Children’s Theater Program, for example, also require support. The hours are flexible all year round, and most of all, you’ll be in a fun, social environment while learning about the history of Shelter Island.
