Hello Bakers and Slow Food East End Members,
It’s time to pull out your baking pans for our annual bread bake in support of CAST‘s Feed-A-Kid (FAK) program!
While we’ve transitioned away from our bi-weekly baking schedule, we’re proud to continue supporting CAST through Feed-A-Kid each summer.
The Feed-A-Kid program provides healthy breakfasts, lunches, and snacks to children during school breaks when they no longer have access to school meals. In addition to nutritious food, CAST offers engaging, nutrition-focused educational activities for participating children. The need continues to grow—over the past five years, the program has expanded by 58%, serving 692 children in 2025.
Whether you’re an experienced bread baker or have always wanted to try baking your first loaf, we’d love to have you join us. Flour Power welcomes bakers of all skill levels, and every loaf makes a difference. There has never been a more important time to support CAST and the children and families who rely on the Feed-A-Kid program. Your participation—whether you bake one loaf or many—is a meaningful way to care for our community.
We hope you’ll consider baking bread and delivering it on one of the following days:
Monday, August 17: 1:00–4:00 p.m.
Tuesday, August 18: 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
